The Dead Never Spoke Death Can’t Be Revoked

On a day when the heart steals the thoughts from the mind
anguishes brutality is not complying to the passing of time
I moved among these relics yielding death with destruction
deadly daggers making cadavers from inventive construction

Standing before this soldier the body was broken from the disorder
for me, no flag really came come to mind, not yours and not mine.
Cannon blast to carpet bomb bombardment its death on installment
confusion to illusion aggressor to the agitator reckless nomenclature

Man learned to fly who knew such death would come from the sky
fighters banking right bombs away, flank guns have something to say
Bullets blackening the sky the howitzers concentration makes you cry
barrage batter battalions provocation, booby traps with imagination

With radar on patrol, somebody better give the Red Cross a call
warplane fighting warheads a missile name Sam said you’re dead
Counterattack, countermand the counteroffensive will not stand
pointless to me killing each other it must not be, let’s talk and see

I'm a father, friend, and a family man, I believe in right and wrong, I understand the value of standing on your own. I have an iron will with a poet's heart, a belief in God is where it starts.
